Could MCED become a viable strategy for cancer screening? Might it replace or complement existing single-cancer screening programmes? What are the potential benefits, challenges, and risks associated with MCED? And what kind of evidence and evaluation will be required before its implementation can be considered?

Framework of Elements to consider when evaluating MCED

Biography

Nereo Segnan has made significant contributions to cancer prevention and screening. Since 2003, he has been the principal investigator of several large RCTs, including SCORe, SCORe 2, and SCORe 3, focusing on colorectal cancer screening. He also led the Department of Cancer Screening at Città della Salute e della Scienza University Hospital in Turin from 2008 to 2017. Additionally, he has been involved in European Commission-funded projects on cancer screening quality assurance and health technology assessment. Since 2012, he served as a Senior Visiting Scientist at IARC in Lyon, further advancing global cancer research and prevention strategies.
