Biography
Epidemiologist, head of the Epidemiology and Screening department (CPO-Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Città della Salute-Turin (Italy), WHO Collaborating Centre for early detection and screening since 2014. Research fields: Breast and cervical cancer screening organisation and evaluation, risk-based screening, randomised trial on cancer screening compliance, communications and psychological aspects in secondary cancer prevention interventions, cancer screening by immigrant and minority women; cancer screening in developing countries and in low-resource settings; smoking prevention and control; cancer screening and healthy lifestyle promotion interventions (diet, physical activity and tobacco consumption).

Biography
Urška Ivanuš, MD has a postgraduate specialization and a PhD in public health emphasising cancer epidemiology and organised cancer screening. She is an assistant professor of organisation and management. She works at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana as Director of the Slovenian Cervical Cancer Screening Programme and Registry ZORA. MoH appointed her to the Board of Experts of the National Cancer Control Plan and as the Head of the National Screening Committee, she was leading the development of a national framework for the implementation of new cancer screening programmes and is leading sustainability and leadership in Joint Action EUCANSCREEN.

Biography
Mārcis Leja is a Professor of Medicine, Director of the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine, University of Latvia, Head of the Dept. of Research, Riga East University hospital, and a consulting gastroenterologist at the Digestive Diseases Centre ‘Gastro’, Riga, Latvia. He serves as an external advisor to the Minister of Health of Latvia.
His special interest lies in the prevention and early detection of gastrointestinal cancer. He is the principal investigator of the population-based gastric cancer prevention study GISTAR (www.gistar.eu) and research coordinator of TOGAS (www.togas.lu.lv) and EuCanScreen (EUCanScreen - 6η Υ.ΠΕ) projects.

Biography
Emma Mitchell, PhD, RN, Associate Professor at the University of Virginia School of Nursing, studies cervical cancer prevention through design and implementation of innovative technologies and models for cervical cancer screening and early detection in low resourced settings, including in Appalachian Virginia and the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. Current work funded by the NIH/FIC, is community-based participatory research on iterative tailoring and development of novel mHealth interventions integrated into HPV-based cervical cancer screening on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. She co-leads the ICSN HPV-based screening working group.

Biography
I am a cytologist at NHLS Tygerberg Hospital with more than 20 years laboratory experience. I am currently registered for a PhD in Anatomical Pathology looking to reduce loss to follow-up in women diagnosed with HSIL+. I have a special interest in GYN and Infection Cytology and passionate about teaching.
